NLCPD Celebrates Park and Recreation Month

This July, join the New Lenox Community Park District for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how New Lenox is stronger and more vibrant because of parks and recreation. A variety of events are planned for all residents – including, Unplugged Park Party with Lincoln-Way Special Recreation Association, Splash into Reading, Grandparent & Me Fishing Day, Sky Harbor Park Grand Opening and Yoga in the Park.

NLCPD Executive Greg Lewis receiving a Proclamation for July to be recognized as Park and Recreation Month in the Village of New Lenox from Mayor Tim Baldermann.

The NLCPD is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting the community to share how parks and recreation has benefitted them and positively impacted their quality of life. With our numerous park sites and everything from golf, summer camps, children’s programs, park parties, bus trips, preschool and sports leagues, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the power of parks and recreation in New Lenox.

NRPA and the NLCPD encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to share how it has improved their quality of life, as well as why their local parks and recreation professionals are important to them, on social media. The NLCPD will post on its social media accounts daily with the hashtag #WhereCommunityGrows to celebrate the people, parks and programs that demonstrate the strong connections the residents of New Lenox have with each other and the community around them.
