Yoga in the Park

If your week consists of sitting in front of a computer at a desk or keeping up with energetic children (or both!), then you need to make time for Yoga in the Park. These classes are great for people who are looking to decompress from their week. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel and a water bottle to class. Register for a selected day, both days or just come drop in.

Hatha Yoga is used to create balance in the body and the mind. This is accomplished by looking to the eight limbs of yoga including asana (physical movement) and pranayama (breathing exercises). During the course we will discover how the linking of physical movement and breath work can begin to slow the mind and release stress. This class is great for people who are looking to decompress from their day or need low impact exercises that will still build strength. All levels of experience and flexibility are welcome! For your comfort, please come to class on an empty stomach (eat two hours before class) and wear loose fitting clothing. Please bring your own yoga mat, strap and a water bottle to class.

WERQ is a fiercely-fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock and hip-hop music. The warm-up previews the dance steps in class and the cool down combines yoga-inspired static stretching and balance poses. Please bring a water bottle and towel to class.

Become the music in this full body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates inspired movements. While using Ripstix®, which are lightly weighted drumsticks created for the purpose of exercising, POUND® transforms drumming into a super effective way of working out to music! POUND® is designed for all fitness levels and provides the perfect atmosphere for rocking out while toning up and having fun. This workout can be easily modified and the “alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.” In order to receive the full benefit from the POUND Fitness class, a Ripstix® is required. Participants must bring their own as limited Ripstixs® will be available for patrons to borrow.

This class is meant for all moms at all fitness levels. It’s a perfect combination of the cardio mamas need to keep up with the kiddos, functional strength training to keep us strong throughout motherhood and core building exercises. This class also involves a mini meditation because who doesn’t need a little more calm in their life? Join us mamas and come see the beauty of Body Back! This 8-session class is meant for all mamas whether you had babies 6 months ago, 6 years ago, or 16 years ago. Yin Yoga is a slower paced class that cultivates an awareness and acceptance within your mind and body. Yin is a fantastic practice for your joint health, flexibility, circulation and mental focus. The flow will consist of a series of long-held deep, restful floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body. The poses are held for one to five minutes. This is a mindful practice that will bring balance into your day, along with space and mobility into your body. Open to all levels.
