Studies show that exercise helps you feel better, sleep better and have more energy. Join one of the New Lenox Community Park District’s many fitness programs to achieve your fitness goals. Participants under the age of 16 are required to be registered along with a parent.

 

WERQ® Fitness

WERQ is a fiercely fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock and hip-hop music. The warm-up previews the dance steps in class and the cool down combines yoga-inspired static stretching and balance poses. Please bring a water bottle and towel to class.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga creates balance in the body and the mind. This is accomplished by looking to the eight limbs of yoga including asana (physical movement) and pranayama (breathing exercises). During the course, we will discover how the linking of physical movement and breath work can begin to slow the mind and release stress. This class is great for people who are looking to decompress from their day and need low impact exercises that will still build strength. All levels of experience and flexibility are welcome! For your comfort, please come to class on an empty stomach (eat two hours before class) and wear loose fitting clothing. Please bring your own yoga mat, strap and a water bottle to class.

POUND® Fitness

Become the music in this full body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with Yoga and Pilates inspired movements. While using Ripstix®, which are lightly weighted drumsticks created for the purpose of exercising, POUND® transforms drumming into a super effective way of working out to music! POUND® is designed for all fitness levels and provides the perfect atmosphere for rocking out while toning up and having fun. This workout can be easily modified and the “alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.” In order to receive the full benefit from the POUND Fitness class, a Ripstix® is required. Participants must bring their own as limited Ripstixs® will be available for patrons to use.
