Ages 5-10

Explore the fascinating science of living things and build engaging models of creatures from caterpillars to dinosaurs. During this six-week unit, students will explore topics such as how the human body stays cool, the amazing life cycle of a butterfly and investigate the Venus Fly Trap-a plant that eats bugs! If you love creatures, this is the class for you. Each child takes home a custom LEGO® mini-figure at the end of the last class.

LEGO® Spring Break Mini-Camp

So you want to be an engineer or architect? Well what are you waiting for? This is your chance! Join us as we put our engineering skills to the test to build bridges, buildings, vehicles and more. We’ll learn about different types of careers for you to explore. Do you like to design cities? You might become an urban architect one day! Do you want to build bridges? Then civil engineering might be the job for you! Want to design the next cool electric car? Then you may be destined to become an automotive or mechanical engineer! Come explore engineering adventures with us! Each child takes home a custom LEGO® mini-figure at the end of the three day session. Please bring a NUT FREE snack and drink each day.

Magic Class

Ages 5-10

Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of fascinating and mesmerizing tricks from the “Magic Team of Gary Kantor”! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and always learn tricks that are age-appropriate. You can sign up for this class again and again because brand new tricks are always taught at each session!

Horseback Riding

Age 6 & Older
Get up and go! It’s time to ride at Nova Quarter Horses, Inc. There is fun for all ages at any riding level; no previous experience is needed. Come out to learn both Western and English disciplines taught by our highly qualified trainers and instructors. We offer both an indoor and outdoor arena, so Nova is able to offer lessons year-round. A 5-lesson card includes five individual one-hour lessons within a group format. Once your lesson card is purchased, call Nova to schedule your lessons at (708) 479-3696. Jeans and hard soled or gym shoes are required.

Puppets with Pizzazz

Ages 8-12

For the first time, All About Music & Children’s Theater is offering a Theatrical Puppet class! In “Puppets with Pizzazz,” students will write, direct and perform their own show utilizing everything they learn about hand and rod puppetry. There will be a short performance for family on Tuesday, May 21 at the conclusion of class.

M&M® Budgeting

Ages 10-14
Administration Building (All-Purpose Room)
M&M® Budgeting is a fun, interactive literacy activity designed to teach sixth, seventh and eighth graders budgeting basics. All students receive a bag of M&Ms® and will use that as their M&M® paycheck. Students separate and organize their M&Ms® by color. Each color represents a different budget item from which students can spend their money. Once students have their budget completed, they will visit merchants to purchase clothes, munchies, electronics, entertainment, gifts and other wants and needs. M&M® Budgeting allows participants to make mistakes and go through the steps of creating and using a budget in a realistic, but safe, environment. Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 13.

Cooking for Muggles: Series #1

Ages 9-13

Muggles will marvel at the foods they will prepare inspired by Harry Potter’s wizarding world! With recipes from Hogwarts and Mrs. Weasley’s kitchen, “Yorkshire” to have a magical experience in this cooking class. The instructor is unable to meet special dietary restrictions for this class.

Junior Chefs

Ages 6-11

Kids who start cooking at a younger age are 50% more likely to make meals from scratch as they grow up. Cooking also teaches kids valuable lessons like following directions, reading, math, science and problem solving. Recipes will include a twist on favorites as well as ethnic recipes to encourage more adventurous taste buds. Each child will take home their own cookbook of recipes too. Please bring an apron to class!
