NLCPD Receives Top Financial Honor for 17th Consecutive Year

The Business Services Department receives the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

For the 17th year in a row, the New Lenox Community Park District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officer Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. This esteemed recognition is for the Park District’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending April 2024.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, awarded only to entities that go beyond the minimum requirements to prepare reports that demonstrate transparency, clarity, and full disclosure. The award was formally presented by Kim Auchstetter, Finance Director/Treasurer for the Village of New Lenox, during a recent Park District Board Meeting. She presented the honor to Director of Business Services Jason Braglia, Deputy Director of Business Services Nicole Saltzman and our Business Services Generalists, Janine White and Ellie Gruzlewski.

“This recognition reflects the tremendous effort and attention to detail our team brings to financial management each and every year,” said Jason Braglia, Director of Business Services. “Seventeen consecutive years of receiving this award is a true testament to the Park District’s unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility and public trust.”

Each submitted report is reviewed by an impartial panel of experts to ensure it meets the program’s rigorous criteria – including a clear communication of the Park District’s financial story and a “spirit of full disclosure” that fosters greater understanding among residents, elected officials, and stakeholders.

The New Lenox Community Park District remains proud of its reputation for financial excellence and transparency, which continues to guide its service to the community.
