The New Lenox Community Park District’s (NLCPD) Executive Director, Greg S. Lewis, is featured in the March-April 2025 issue of Illinois Parks and Recreation Magazine. In the Q&A section of the publication, Lewis explains the importance of building relationships with legislators to help the park district reach its goal of providing quality community life.
Lewis spoke about the success of several key projects that were made possible for the NLCPD because of the park district’s strong legislative relationships. “Our success with OSLAD Grants is a testament to the strong, collaborative relationships we’ve built with our legislators,” said Executive Director Lewis. “They’ve been instrumental in helping us create spaces that truly enrich the lives of our residents.”
Lewis has served as Executive Director of the NLCPD since 2000. Since then, he has been instrumental in the park district obtaining over $4.5 million dollars in OSLAD grants and helped secure $2.5 million in Parc Funding for the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association building.
