This July, join the New Lenox Community Park District (NLCPD) for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate the ways parks and recreation contribute to a strong, playful community. A variety of events are planned for all residents, including Yoga in the Park, The Great Ball Pursuit, Tween Sunset Summer Games, Grandparent & Me Fishing Day, Park Party, Family Fun Nerf Super-Soaker Battle and Splash Bash.
The NLCPD is proud to participate in Park and Recreation Month, a campaign led by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), which invites the community to express their sense of belonging through park and recreational activities. With numerous park sites and activities such as golf, bus trips, special events, children’s classes and summer camps, there are several opportunities to build relationships with neighbors and celebrate the joy of play.
The NRPA and the NLCPD encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to show how it has strengthened their bonds within the community on social media. Throughout the month, the NLCPD will use the hashtag #BuildTogetherPlayTogether on social media to showcase all the ways to celebrate with the Park District this season.
