NLCPD and the New Lenox Township Food Pantry Receive Donation from New Lenox Friends of the Parks

The New Lenox Community Park District and The New Lenox Township Food Pantry received donations from the New Lenox Friends of the Parks at last night’s Park District Board Meeting.

With the money raised from the New Lenox Friends of the Parks annual events, Running with Friends 5K and MetaMucil 55+ Golf Outing, they presented a check to Ted Schulz, Park Board President, for $4,000.00. The New Lenox Community Park District plans to use this generous donation for updates at the Sanctuary Golf Course and security at our outdoor Fitness Court.

The New Lenox Friends of the Parks made a $2,000.00 donation to the New Lenox Township Food Pantry from the net proceeds of their Empty Bowls event that took place on October 3, in the Village Commons.

The New Lenox Community Park District is grateful for their partnership with the New Lenox Friends of the Parks. New Lenox Friends of the Parks mission is to assist New Lenox area residents with creating healthy lifestyles through parks and recreation, promoting diverse recreation opportunities for all citizens, developing scholarship programs for struggling fellow citizens, and maintaining and improving the amenities that park properties provide.
