M&M® Budgeting

M&M® Budgeting is a fun, interactive literacy activity designed to teach sixth, seventh and eighth graders budgeting basics. All students receive a bag of M&Ms® and will use that as their M&M® paycheck. Students separate and organize their M&Ms® by color. Each color represents a different budget item from which students can spend their money. Once students have their budget completed, they will visit merchants to purchase clothes, munchies, electronics, entertainment, gifts and other wants and needs. M&M® Budgeting allows participants to make mistakes and go through the steps of creating and using a budget in a realistic, but safe, environment. Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 13.
