Children's Programs Fall

All Ages (Geared towards 5 & under)

Little Buckaroos is for one adult and up to 2 children. Little Buckaroos is geared toward ages 5 and under. Each child will have the opportunity to tour the barn, meet our gentle horses, and feed them some apples and carrots. Then each child will go for a lead line ride. They will sit in the saddle while a Nova staff member leads the horse around the arena. This is a great introduction to horses for your little ones!

Rising Star Musical Theater

Ages 6-11

Explore your dramatic and creative side while learning theatrical terms, musical concepts, and basic dance steps. Students will learn acting warmups, improv games and how to make props. They will also prepare a short performance of a popular musical such as “Descendants”, “Frozen” or “Wizard of Oz” to be given during the final class. All materials are included.

Magic Class!

Want to learn how to do amazing magic tricks! Get ready to take an incredible adventure into the world of magic in this two-part class! In this class, your child will learn a lot of great magic tricks, but the class is not just about learning how the trick works. Magic is an interactive art with many benefits. Without realizing it, the kids are learning about presentation and performance and how to practice and prepare. They are also learning communication skills and critical thinking, all while building self-confidence, having fun, and meeting new friends. All materials are included! Each class member will receive their very own magic kit filled with fun and easy magic tricks that they can perform. It also includes a magic wand. Amaze and entertain your family and friends with these incredible magic tricks with cards, coins, rope and more! Join magician, Michael Darnell, in this one-of-a-kind experience. Michael keeps the class interesting and exciting while providing personalized guidance and instruction to each student. Registration deadline is Monday, October 5 at 9 am.

Ages 7 & Older

It’s time to ride at Nova Quarter Horses! Fun for all ages at any riding level, no previous experience is needed.  Come out to learn both Western and English disciplines taught by our highly qualified trainers and instructors.  We offer both an indoor and outdoor arena, so Nova is able to offer lessons year round.  A 5-lesson card includes 5 individual one hour group lessons. Helmets are available at parent’s request. Once your lesson card is purchased, call Nova to schedule your lessons at (708) 479-3696. There is a limit of one initial park district 5-lesson card per family. Additional lessons to be purchased directly through Nova. Jeans and boots or hard soled shoes are required. Ages 7+.
