This class is offered by Will County Senior Services. The goal of this class is to improve balance to prevent falls, increase flexibility and reduce stress. Its slow, soothing movements incorporate deep breathing and relaxing postures that help calm the mind and body each time you go through gentle movements. Horseback Riding

Age 7 & Older
Giddy up and go! It’s time to ride at Nova Quarter Horses, Inc. There is fun for all ages at any riding level; no previous experience is needed. Come out to learn both Western and English disciplines taught by our highly qualified trainers and instructors. We offer both an indoor and outdoor arena, so Nova is able to offer lessons year-round. A 5-lesson card includes five individual one-hour lessons within a group format. Once your lesson card is purchased, call Nova to schedule your lessons at (708) 479-3696. Jeans and boots are required.

The Spanish Acquisition – Spanish Classes for Adults

In this relaxed, small-class environment you will learn Spanish conversation, grammar and phonetics which you can immediately begin using. This class will be tailored to fit the needs of the students enrolled.

Discover nature and meet new people! Join us as we travel by bus to hit some exciting trails in Illinois. The location will vary week to week. Be sure to dress in weather-appropriate attire. Bring a water bottle and comfortable walking shoes.

Quilting Club

Enjoy the company of other enthusiasts! On Wednesdays, we take turns sharing and showing. Fridays are set aside to work on your unfinished projects. We occasionally go on quilting road trips and donate quilts to charities. All talent levels are welcome. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn and how much fun you can have. This club meets the first Wednesday and the third Friday of each month. Don’t forget your machine! Our group continues to grow and is always looking for new members.

Sudoku for Beginners

Sudoku is the hottest game in America! Join us as we teach you how to play the game and give your brain a creative workout. Sudoku is a logic-based number placement puzzle using a 9 by 9 grid. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 sub grids that compose the main grid contain all the digits from 1 to 9. Put on your Sudoku game hat and get ready for some fun!

Coloring Club

Coloring is not just for kids anymore! In Coloring Club, you will rediscover the simple relaxation and joy of coloring. This is a great activity to explore your artistic side. You will relish in the joy of creating a beautiful work of art with no artistic skills required. Coloring is known to reduce stress and improves hand-eye coordination. This club will meet select Wednesdays. All materials are included.

Adult Line Dancing

Do you love music and like to dance, but don’t have a partner? Learn to line dance! Each dance is a pattern of steps that repeat throughout the song. Fun with Fabric

Calling all sewers and quilters! Join us each week as we take on a fun new project and meet new friends. Learn how to do English Paper Piecing, fabric yo-yos, fabric buntings for a baby’s room, college dorm, bridal parties and more! Bring a basic sewing kit containing white thread as well as a few other colors, scissors, hand sewing needles (at least 3), pins and any fabric scraps you have from home.

Get in shape and have fun during this fitness class designed for active adults! Stretching and cardiovascular exercises are included. All fitness levels are welcomed. Newcomers, please exercise at your own pace. This is not an instructor-led class; class follows along to an audio CD called “Fun and Fitness Over 50.”

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. This class will move your whole body through a series of seated and standing yoga poses using a chair for support. Poses are modified so those with health restrictions, decreased range of motion and physical challenges can enjoy the benefits.

Dessert Charcuterie Boards are the perfect thing to make for a party. You can tailor it to fit any theme and there is always something for everyone. In this class, we will make some homemade small batch treats to build the perfect board of sweets! Bring your favorite cutting board, lazy susan, sheet pan or charcuterie board to build a beautiful, yummy display! Fee includes groceries.

Luckily our 10 Meals Freezer Cooking Plan is designed to help you spend less time in the kitchen and more time doing all those other things you want to do—while still providing a healthy, delicious meal for your family. Purchase and/or bring groceries for 3 recipes from our list of 10 and have the time, space and tools to build them! Recipe selections will be emailed, and freezer bags and appropriate spices will be provided.
