StagePlay:  Musical Theater for Kids!

Does your child love to sing, dance, and perform for others?  This entertaining program emphasizes the journey toward producing a show from start to finish, while creating a fun environment to stretch dramatic wings.  StagePlay Junior is a great introduction to musical theatre.   Junior participants will be given an opportunity to perform in the chorus of the StagePlay production of “Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum”, a musical adaptation of the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.  The performance on Wed., Dec. 15th will give the cast a chance to show friends and family all that they have learned in only fourteen weeks.  For more information, contact Monica Minogue at info@stageplaykids.com.

Flu Shot Clinic For Ages 14 and Over ~

Flu season is right around the corner.  The best way to prevent getting and spreading influenza is to get a flu shot.  Dominick's is providing New Lenox residents with flu and pneumonia shots in a convenient, efficient and economical manner.  Qualified Medicare Part B and Medicaid participants will receive a FREE Influenza and Pneumonia shot.  Please bring your Medicare card and picture I.D. with you.  For residents not covered by either policy, please contact Kathy from the Recreation Department of the New Lenox Community Park District for further pricing information at 815.485.1737.

Be a part of Lincoln-Way 210 Senior Series.  You don't need to go to Chicago to get quality entertainment.  They bring it to you!   Our van will leave the Lions Community Center (1 Manor Drive, NL) at 10:00am and deliver you straight to the door.

Performances are about 60-70 minutes in length.

Laughter and Memories of Sinatra ~ Sept. 22, 2010

Performance comedian, Tom Dreesen will take you from his childhood of shining shoes in bars in his hometown hearing Sinatra on the jukebox singing, "Come Fly with Me" to one day touring the nation in Sinatra's private jet as his opening act for 13 years.  Tom's keen insight and the lessons he learned from the legendary star, promises to be a moving experience.

This one-hour workshop is designed to show students and parents what college admissions officers want to see in an essay.  The workshop will examine the types of topics students will encounter, cover the four steps to writing a winning essay and critique a sample

admissions essay.

PSAT Test Strategies 101

55 Alive Mature Driving Ages 55+

This class is a refresher course designed for individuals ages 55 and older to brush up on their driving skills and pick up new ideas to drive safely and defensively.  Completion of this 8-hour course may qualify you for reduced automobile insurance rates through your insurance company.  After completing the class, you will also receive a certificate from the Secretary of State.  You must attend both days of the class.  Please contact Officer Aurena Davis at the New Lenox Police Department at 815.462.6100 to register.

How to Build Your Own Home ~ Adult

Enjoy gratification and cost savings of 25% or better by building your own home.  This course will provide you with the knowledge and process of how to build your own home, without lifting a hammer.  Here is an opportunity to see if you have what it takes to be your own General Contractor.  We will teach you step-by-step through the process to help you understand what is involved in being your own General Contractor.

Invite your friends and grab your flashlight for a night you will never forget.  Make your way through the dark corn maze, be sure to bring a flashlight it will be dark!  After working up an appetite in the maze and running around in the hay stack maze, we will be roasting hot dogs and making s’mores over a bonfire.  We’ll check out the pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and more.  Bring extra money for snacks.  (Rain date will be Fri., Oct. 8.)

Saddle up for a knee-slappin' good time!  Join us for a day of line-dancing fun with other seniors across the state.  You will be served a plated lunch of minestrone soup, spinach salad, pasta rigatoni, bread and chocolate mousse for dessert.  Hot beverages are included; soft drinks are an additional charge.  After lunch, learn the newest country line-dances taught by an instructor, then kick up your heels on the dance floor.
